Compassionate Resilience Through Practical Breathwork

“Your breath mirrors your behavioural patterns and through compassionate breathwork we begin to transform how we think, feel and live our lives”.

Let's Work Together

Let's Work Together ⋆

Hi, I’m Fiona,

I’m a proud mix of Irish storytelling and Yorkshire straight talk - the Founder of NOOMA Breathwork.

With roots firmly planted on a council estate in the North West of England, life has taken me around the world, living and working in East Africa before relocating to New Zealand.

A childhood marked by abuse and my father’s incarceration, shaped my formative years, yet has not defined my future. Instead, they fuelled an unwavering determination to create a different life and make a positive difference in the world.

This determination led me down many paths including conventional therapies, alternative healing and everything in between - all searching for ways to make sense of my experiences and find solid ground.

However, it was only upon discovering breathwork that something profoundly shifted. With this practice, I was able to develop my capacity for self trust along with a sense of acceptance that was unlike anything I'd experienced before - immediate, embodied and refreshingly uncomplicated.

This transformative journey ignited something I couldn’t ignore: a passion to share the benefits with others. Now as a certified facilitator, I’m dedicated to creating spaces where others can grow their own capacity for healing and presence - no mystical promises, spiritual jargon or complicated protocols required.

The Nooma Approach

Life these days can be full noise. The challenges we face today demand more from us than ever before.

NOOMA breathwork sessions are designed to help you recognise and develop your innate capacity and resilience—allowing you to not just survive any challenges, but experience them with genuine confidence.

What makes NOOMA breathwork different is a down-to-earth, judgment-free approach that balances practical, common-sense guidance with just the right sprinkling of light-hearted wisdom.

No quick fix social media healing here—just honest conversation, effective techniques, and often, the laughter that comes when we finally let go of what we may have been holding onto and realise that we already have everything we need.

Based in Auckland, New Zealand with the availability to travel and work with you online, I offer personalised breathwork sessions where you experience the relationship between your breath and your health and well-being.

Clinical Expertise & Specialist Training

My therapeutic approach is grounded in over 25 years of clinical expertise in health, justice, and social services.

I am trained and experienced working in specialist areas including criminal justice, family violence, sexual violence, mental health, homelessness and youth services — all providing a depth of understanding that extends far beyond standard wellness training.

I currently work as a National Family Violence Specialist with the Ministry of Justice, supporting the implementation of Te Aorerekura, the National Strategy to Eliminate Family Violence and Sexual Violence in New Zealand.

All the skills and knowledge that are embedded within my professional foundation inform every breathwork session, allowing me to work effectively with clients from diverse backgrounds.

My breathwork credentials include certification through the Clarity Breathwork Professional Training Programme (2018), specialising in both water and dry breathwork facilitation, and Trauma-Informed Breathwork Facilitator Training with Owaken Breathwork (2022).

I’ve since returned as a Owaken Breathwork Support Coach, mentoring student facilitators. I also have co-facilitated with Lukis Mac and Hella Weston on multiple global tours.

My breathwork qualifications are accredited by the accredited by the GPBA (Global Professional Breathwork Alliance), IBF (International Breathwork Foundation) and comply with the IBTA Professional Training Standards for Breathwork Facilitators.

I maintain ongoing clinical supervision with a registered social worker and participate in continuous professional development, ensuring my practice remains as grounded in evidence as it is in compassion, ensuring the highest quality of care.

“My work centres upon choice and collaboration, supporting you towards a deeper trust and connection with your mind and body”.
